McCormick Ranch lies in what is considered “central Scottsdale,” between Indian Bend Road to the south and the Shea Boulevard corridor to the north. The Town of Paradise Valley, Arizona is to the west, and the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) is to the east.

Covering an area of approximately 5 square miles, McCormick Ranch has almost 14,000 residents, for a population density of about 2700 people per square mile.

The charm of McCormick Ranch are the winding walking/biking paths that weave throughout the community so you can walk to your favorite coffee place, dinner or treats, supermarket shopping, as well as great fitness gyms – hot yoga and more!

McCormick Ranch offers homes for everyone in all stages of their lives and lifestyle! There are numerous condominiums, gorgeous townhouse and patio homes and wonderful single family homes on large lots and even in gated communities!

McCormick Ranch has many high-end shops and offices located along the arterial streets that form its perimeter, and a few along interior streets. Commercial and recreational developments on the SRPMIC to the east include The Scottsdale Pavilions outdoor shopping center, Talking Stick Resort and golf course, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick (spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball franchises), Odysea Aquarium, and the Butterfly Wonderland.

Scottsdale City parks interior to McCormick Ranch include Mountain View Park, Comanche Park, Shoshone Park, and Zuni Park.

Cochise Elementary School is adjacent to Mountain View Park. Many green spaces within and adjacent to McCormick Ranch are connected to the City of Scottsdale’s Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt. The Mustang branch of the Scottsdale Public Library is just northeast of McCormick Ranch, as is the Shea Boulevard hospital campus of Scottsdale Healthcare.

A unique Attraction in McCormick Ranch is the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. The Paradise & Pacific Railroad was created by Stillman, the Paradise & Pacific Railroad is the oldest and the first attraction to operate in the park. This ridable miniature railway has a route of 3,800 feet of track and 1,400 feet of sidetrack, including two trestles, a tunnel, 2 water tanks, loading platform, turntable, two crossing signals and an extensive train shed and workshop. The railroad has three steam locomotives (two operational), three diesel locomotives, two cabooses, a coach car, a trolley car (in the model RR building), three stock cars and a large number of gondola cars. Additionally there is the Charro Carrousel: This merry-go- round was built in 1950 by The Allan Herschell Company and was purchased and restored by the Scottsdale Railroad & Mechanical Society. Of course the park has two children’s playgrounds, one of them Southwestern-themed in an adobe construction.
